Call of the Baobabs-4 – Ink and Acrylic Painting by Sanjay Lavakare (36 x 30 in)

About the Artwork

Call of the Baobabs-4 is a vertical artwork created in ink and acrylic by artist Sanjay Lavakare. Measuring 36 x 30 inches (91 x 76 cm), this piece illustrates a surreal landscape populated by towering, textured baobab tree forms set beneath a radiant red sun. The composition balances intricate monochrome pen drawings with bold red accents to create a graphic visual narrative.

Artistic Details

Utilising ink and acrylic on canvas, Sanjay Lavakare constructs detailed textures across the baobab trunks using scalloped linework and dark cross-hatching. Figures clad in bright red robes move across stippled shadow paths at the base of the trees, while a solid red sun sits near the upper center, serving as a vibrant visual anchor against the grey and white sky.

Why It Works in a Space

The generous 36 x 30 inch vertical proportions and high-contrast red and black palette make Call of the Baobabs-4 an ideal centerpiece for various interior settings:

• Dining Rooms: Enhances social dining areas by introducing graphic line detail and warm crimson colour accents.

• Offices & Boardrooms: Adds an intellectually engaging visual narrative to executive workspaces and meeting areas.

• Hallways & Foyers: Makes a memorable first impression in spacious entryways, double-height walls, and staircases.
