The Rug Seller-2 – Ink and Acrylic Painting by Sanjay Lavakare (18 x 6 in)

About the Artwork

The Rug Seller-2 is an elongated vertical artwork created in ink and acrylic by artist Sanjay Lavakare. Measuring 18 x 6 inches (46 x 15 cm), this piece presents an engaging narrative scene centered on a seated figure displaying a patterned carpet. The visual composition relies on a subtle balance between intricate monochrome line drawings and vivid acrylic colour accents.

Artistic Details

Combining fine pen-and-ink linework with acrylic paint, Sanjay Lavakare renders detailed geometric motifs across hanging woven tapestries and patterned clothing. The seated figure holds a brightly painted turquoise carpet featuring a central yellow floral sunburst medallion. Delicate green parrots perched near the top and bottom of the composition add vibrant nature accents to the black-and-white setting.
