Call of the Baobabs – Ink and Acrylic Painting by Sanjay Lavakare (36 x 30 in)

About the Artwork

Call of the Baobabs is a captivating vertical artwork created in ink and acrylic by artist Sanjay Lavakare. Measuring 36 x 30 inches (91 x 76 cm), this piece presents a surreal landscape filled with towering baobab tree forms set beneath a radiant crimson sun. The composition balances intricate monochrome penwork with vivid red focal points, creating an evocative atmosphere.

Artistic Details

Utilising ink and acrylic on canvas, Sanjay Lavakare constructs detailed textures across the trunks of the baobab trees, blending delicate scalloped linework with stippled black-and-white shading. At the base of the towering trees, figures clad in bright red robes gather across patterned shadow pathways, while a bold red sun anchors the top of the canvas, casting a warm glow over the graphic landscape.

Why It Works in a Space
